Loxley Court, Sheffield

The 6 phase refurbishment of this working 80 bedroom nursing home for the elderly required a structured and balanced approach allowing the facility to continue operation while the renovation works were carried out. Strict working procedures had to be enforced in order for the work to meet health and safety regulations and had to be flexible for safe nursing and the health and safety of resident, staff and construction workers -the projects primary concern.

With this project a safe and tidy site had never been more important, requiring temporary emergency routes constant supervision, liaison between all members of the team and free passage at all times. The main focus of the refurbishment was the installation of a noise reductive flooring and ceiling system to improve noise and fire resistance along with a complete renewal of the internal fixtures and fitting to bring the home up to and beyond existing requirements.
